Investec is a very high-end bank for the super wealthy. So when they decided to extend their services to a wider audience, we knew we could use their iconic status somehow. So we created a nation-wide campaign that simply asked: what makes successful people successful? Our answer was, Ambition. Ambition is very deeply woven into the Investec culture, it’s clients and even the people who aspire to be a member of the bank. No matter your situation, circumstances or obstacles, Ambition is what it takes to reach the next level. That’s why Investec has a history of sponsoring some of the world’s best athletes, education and conservation programmes. In this scenario, we used the analogy of a maths equation to narrate this TV/Cinema/Online ad, which showcased one of Investec’s most impressive go-getters: an unknown little girl from the Soweto township, who used her Ambition to accomplish amazing things against remarkable odds. Lindiwe Zondo’s story became one of many that we went on to profile on Investec’s website of everyday heroes.
